A friend forwarded this to me earlier today, and after listening to it twice, I felt I had to share it with the world:

Give it a minute to kick in.
Wired just posted a story about an attempt to create the most annoying song ever using research data about what people hate to listen to. It isn’t just cacophony – it is actual music. It’s just terrible by design.
If I’m being perfectly honest, I must admit that I found it oddly compelling. It’s long — weighing in about 22 minutes (though after 3 minutes or so you definitely get the idea) — though I’ve already listened to it all the way through twice.
It is extremely annoying, but it is also very funny. And I’m not just talking about the lyrics. It’s like the badness of the musical composition itself is inherently funny. And that’s interesting.
Listen to this monstrosity and notice when you find yourself laughing. Is it possible for music itself to be funny? The mere existence of the Timpani and the slide whistle supports this idea.
I have a feeling that listening to this could become like those ridiculous 96-ounce-steak eating competitions, but for music.
Can you stomach this song? Let us know if you made it all the way through!
