Kiss stagnation good-bye.
Confidence makes or breaks your scenes
The ability to make confident choices comfortably is one of the most important skills an improviser can possess. Strong choices enable clear communication and opportunities to progress scenes in new and exciting directions.
Unfortunately, many improvisers are not comfortable making strong, scene-changing choices (or worse, they have been told not to). Many other improvisers are too polite for their own good and would rather defer to their partner than take action themselves.
Scenes that fall prey to this sort of behavior are easy to spot — they are stagnant and fail to challenge or surprise either the audience or the players themselves. Anyone who has ever improvised has been in this situation. But it doesn’t have to be this way.
